PHP Search Engine Script
Searching the net for php search script proved to be more difficult than I realised.
I was looking for a search engine script which ran on PHP (php4 or php5) using MySQL.
The search engine script had to handle multiple domains or sub domains. It also had to be customisable to suit the website.
Most importantly, it had to be able to handle tens of thousands of indexed pages and it had to be fast.

This search engine has been around for many years. I have downloaded and installed years ago to test it. It uses Perl, but has a php front end. It has a lot of features but looked far to complex to setup for my minimal requirements.

A great search engine script with some fantastic features. It can index a number of file formats including HTML web pages, PDF documents and Microsoft Office files such as Word and PowerPoint. At $149.00, this script provides great value but only indexes one domain.

Main features include control to customise the relevancy of how to index pages. You can index multiple domains/sub domains and also list domains not to index. This search script followes robot.txt instructions. Priced from $99.00.

Available in three versions and priced from $39.00. Site Search Pro Gold costs around $150 and has a strong feature list including search indexing of PDF, DOC, ELS and Flash files. Multi-langauge support with full control over layout and design.
